Application
These brushed-aluminum exit signs are a favorite in subway and train stations that see thousands of people a day. They grip tightly to any ceiling with the provided reinforced bracket, or can be wall mounted, providing a sturdy base which makes the sign even harder to damage.
External Specifications
The CA-EX has a sturdy die-cast aluminum housing and faceplates. Standard units have a brushed aluminum finish, though other colors are available. 'Exit' faceplates easily snap on and off for quick access to the internal components.
A push button switch on the side of the housing is for monthly and yearly diagnostic tests to ensure the sign's longevity.
Internal Specification
Like all exit signs, cast aluminum exit signs have an led strip that causes the 'exit' lettering to glow. It is connected to a circuit board and transformer that switches the led from AC electricity to the NiCad battery backup unit.
NiCad batteries charge in about 2 hours and will keep the sign lit for at least 90 minutes following a power failure.
