The 4-Hour Emergency Light is designed to provide four hours of emergency illumination when AC power in the facility is lost. Underwriter Laboratories (UL), who are responsible for the UL 924 Standard for Emergency Lighting and Exit Sign Fixtures, require emergency fixtures to operate for a minimum of 90 minutes when powered by backup battery packs. The 4-Hour Emergency Light provides 240 minutes of emergency illumination for lighting applications where the bare minimum isn't enough. Common applications for this fixture include large-scale manufacturing facilities where rolling blackouts can occur and processing plants that take more than 90 minutes for power to be restored.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light features a push button battery backup testing system and a powerful sealed lead acid battery that will provide four hours of emergency illumination. This fixture is UL 924 listed for use in the United States.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light does just what its name implies: provides 240 minutes of emergency illumination. It is commonly used in large-scale processing and manufacturing facilities where the 90 minute minimum isn't enough.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light's housing is constructed from a rugged 20-gauge steel that comes standard in a baked white enamel powder coat. Top-mounted halogen lamps are easily adjustable to fit almost every lighting environment.
It is also possible to order this fixture in a polycarbonate, waterproof housing, that will protect internal components from moisture, dust, and other hazardous elements.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light uses 120V and 277V AC connections to power the fixture and charge the sealed lead acid battery. This fixture also uses a low voltage battery disconnect to prevent the battery pack from being damaged during long discharge periods, while the AC lockout feature prevents battery discharge when not in use. Custom voltages are available upon request.
This fixture comes standard with two adjustable 9 watt Halogen lamp heads. These lamps provide brilliant illumination and almost double the output of typically used 5.4 watt lamp heads.
It is possible to outfit the 4-Hour Emergency Light with more powerful lamp heads for industrial emergency lighting applications. Photometric data is available for all lamp heads.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light comes standard with two lamp heads, but can be customized to operate with one or even zero lamps. When outfitted with zero lamp heads, this emergency light is used as a power supply for remotely located lamp heads. Lamp wattages are available in 12, 18, 25, 30, 35, 55, and 70 watts.

The 4-Hour Emergency Light comes standard with a 6 volt 100 watt sealed lead acid battery that will provide 240 minutes of emergency illumination. Even higher capacity batteries are available to extend run time or support more powerful lamp heads.
The sealed lead acid battery charges in 24 hours and can operate at temperatures up to 122º F. OSHA requires monthly and yearly tests of the backup battery system, which is quick and easy thanks to the push button testing system. The included battery is expected to last 3 to 5 years.

The 20-gauge steel housing is durable and designed to withstand moderate abuse. It is possible to purchase fixtures with wet location housing, constructed of weatherproof polycarbonate housing, that are impervious to moisture, water, and dust. These fixtures are popular solutions for industrial environments that are known to feature elements that would cause standard emergency lights to malfunction.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light extends the emergency run time of the battery from 90 minutes to 240 minutes. This allows for safe emergency egress and return to the facility even if AC power has not been restored within 90 minutes.
This fixture provides unparalleled run time while remaining affordable. All components are constructed from high quality components that are designed to meet safety codes and provide emergency illumination for years to come.
The 4-Hour Emergency Light mounts to most nonflammable surfaces and features conduit knockouts on the back and sides of the fixture.
