The EPEL Series Class 1 Division 1 hazardous location emergency lighting fixture is made for the roughest conditions imaginable. They are specifically made for industrial locations in close proximity to volatile gases and vapors often found in power plants, aircraft refueling areas and oil refineries. The EPEL is built with the strongest materials available and is hermetically sealed to prevent the intrusion of gas which could potentially be explosive.
This series of lights are equipped with two powerful MR 16 halogen lamps to provide brilliant, directional light during emergency situations. Their copper-free cast aluminum construction can withstand high temperature fires and explosions and continue running for at least 90 minutes.
EPELs are constructed from copper-free cast aluminum. The globe is made from impact and heat resistant glass encased in a cast aluminum globe guard. All fastening hardware is corrosion-resistant stainless steel and fixtures can be ceiling or wall mounted depending on your specifications.
12-volt 20-watt Halogen MR16 lamps are standard but may be swapped with higher voltage heads.
Sealed lead calcium batteries typically last 5 years when operated at a mean temperature between 65°F (19°C) and 85°F (30°C).
During non-emergency situations the EPEL will run off the building's electrical power, trickle charging the battery to maintain a full charge at all times. In a power outage, the light's internal circuits will automatically switch to battery power, providing a minimum 90 minutes of emergency illuminaton.
Three-year warranty on parts.
Four-year prorated warranty for lead calcium battery.
Five-year prorated warranty on nickel cadmium battery.
The maintenance required for this unit is monthly and yearly testing of the battery backup system per OSHA regulations. The emergency lamps are replaceable if broken or burnt out.
Class 1 Div 1 emergency lights have an 8-10 year expected lifespan on all components except the replaceable battery.
Optional Pendant Kit - Allows installation in high, vaulted ceilings
Temperature Compensated Charger - Regulates the battery charging output depending on the outside temperature
