SLEX-20 self luminous exit signs use vacuum sealed tritium tubes instead of electric bulbs to provide a glowing 'exit' legend. The tubes have an inner coating of phosphor that, when interacting with tritium, causes the tubes to glow continuously without ever having to charge or maintain them.

Application
SLEX-20s come with their own universal mounting canopies and fasteners. The canopy is weather and corrosion resistant aluminum and can be used in a wall, ceiling or edge-mounted fashion.
External Specifications
The border, trim and back-plate (on single sided models) of the self luminous exit sign is white corrosion-proof ABS thermoplastic, though aluminum and vandalproof models are available. A clear polycarbonate panel protects the tritium tubes and stencils inside from external duress.
Internal Specifications
Our SLEX-20's power source is the phosphor coated tritium tubes, filled with an isotope level high enough to stay charged for two decades of use. The tritium, while radioactive, produces less radiation than a home smoke detector when sealed in the vacuum tubes.
