The most versatile low-profile exit solution we carry is our sexy universal recessed edge lit exit sign. All of the electronic components, battery and LED strip are tucked into the drywall or plenum ceiling so that only the clear 'exit' panel will show.
Our UNV-R-EDGE-LIT-EXIT-SIGN series look like something out of a sci-fi movie and they don't seem to be powered by anything upon first glance. In reality they actually use very little power thanks to the highly efficient LED technology they employ.
These signs will also remain on after a power failure occurs, ensuring your building occupants will find a safe egress with minimal panic or injury.

Application
Universal recessed edge lit exit signs get their name because they can be used for both single and double-faced applications. They also include universal directional chevrons that can be affixed to the acrylic lens panel even after the sign has been installed.
These signs are great for upscale offices when you want the least amount of architectural impact.
External Specifications
The UNV-R-EDGE-LIT-EXIT-SIGN has an unfinished aluminum housing which stores all of the sign components. When inserted into a drop-down or plenum ceiling, the housing will not be visible. A red push-to-test switch at the bottom of the housing allows for quick periodic maintenance while an LED indicator displays the status of the battery.
The universal edge lit exit sign's panel is injection molded with high impact transparent acrylic. A mirrored sheet is slipped throughout the middle of the sign, which makes it appear to be a single faced sign, though 'exit' stencils are beveled on either side.
Internal Specifications
The LED strip, NiCad battery and circuits are contained within the exit housing. A solid-state charger regulates voltage and will immediately re-charge the battery after power has been restored following a black-out. It automatically detects temperature and environmental shifts and adjusts the rate of charge accordingly. This affords the battery the longest life possible.
