Our vandal proof emergency lights are some of the best luminaries in areas where tampering and vandalism are a constant threat to electrical equipment. Your emergency lighting system will last close to a decade if properly maintained, so spending a few bucks more on a vandal proof unit makes a lot of sense.
These lights are built to take a beating in areas of your building that can't be monitored closely.
These super strong lights are also a bit more compact than standard steel fixtures. The VP-EL is the ideal emergency lighting fixture in prisons, hospitals, hotels, police stations and amusement parks.
The VP-EL has a standard white powder coated finish which protects the 20-gauge steel body of the light. Two cubical lexan polycarbonate lenses protect the side-mounted halogen lamps and are virtually indestructible. A push button on the unit allows for quick, easy diagnostic.
Inside the vandal proof emergency light's steel housing is the circuit board, transformer and battery backup system. A steel access panel allows effortless access to all internal components. Can take a 6v or 12v sealed lead acid battery, or can connect to a remote power source via magnum terminals.
Five-year warranty on parts
Three-year prorated warranty on SLA battery
Parts: 8-10 years
Replaceable SLA battery: 3-5 years
Self-Test - self diagnostic eliminates the need for manual monthly/yearly maintenance. An alarm will tell you if any component loses functionality.
Time-Delay - ideal for companies using fluorescent and HID lights in their general lighting. This option will keep the emergency light on for an additional 15 minutes after power is restored, allowing HID lights to reach their full intensity.
Nickel Cadmium Battery - NiCad battery backups weigh less and are safer than sealed lead acid cells. They last 5-7 years and are easier to replace.
Housing Color - custom finishes available; expect a longer delivery time.
Side-Mounted Lamps - make sure to specify.
Voltmeter - visual display of the voltage condition/battery level.
Anmeter - provides a visual display of the power being consumed by the light.
Cord Set - eliminates the need to wire expensive conduits and j-boxes, so long as a 120v AC outlet is close to the luminary.
