Our wet location remote heads are built for the toughest abuse in wet and cold locations. They are NEMA-4X certified, meaning the manufacturer has individually approve each fixture with a number of tests to ensure operability in adverse environments.
They are often placed outside where there is not sufficient cover to protect electronics from rain, snow and impact. They are also NSF-approved for food processing plants, kitchens, sculleries or any high-humidity interior location.
The wet location remote head surface mounts to any 4" j-box and is linked to the emergency lighting fixture via a 1/2" metal conduit. To test the lamp's readiness, simply run the regular scheduled maintenance on the emergency light. You will be able to test both fixtures in one maintenance check, greatly reducing your upkeep costs over time.
A special tool is included with the unit and is the only way to remove the tamper-proof screws on the lens box. This is ideal for high-traffic environments where vandalism is commonplace.
The die-cast aluminum backplate housing is gasket sealed to lock out all water and moisture that could affect the electronic components and degrade the light. A heavy duty UV resistant polycarbonate lamp cover seals the halogen lamp from outside duress.
Attached to the front of the WL-RH aluminum backplate is the MR16 lamp, available in 6, 12 or 24Vdc outputs. You can also choose between a single or double (pictured) lamp configuration.
These NEMA 4X luminaries stay off during normal hours until a break in power is detected by the master emergency light fixture. Its battery backup will engage and light the remote head in less than 10 seconds, staying lit for over 90 minutes.
